We've learned that premium is not the only factor  to be considered to make an insurance plan the RightFit. Premiums, copays, coinsurance, provider access, referral requirements, formulary restrictions, deductibles and more must all be considered in determining the actual cost of the insurance plan. Extra benefits may not be a part of the insurance policy or contract, may be subject to geographic availability limitations and may be discontinued at any time. Examples of extra benefits might include discounts on products or services and fitness benefits.



What appears initially to be a great deal can turn out to be a disappointment, and what sometimes initially appears to be a more expensive option can, for some people, be a great choice.

Health Maintenance Organizations, Preferred Provider Organizations, Private Fee For Service Plans, and Medical Savings Plans are examples of Medicare Advantage Plans and are commonly referred to  by their initials HMO, PPO, PFFS, and MSP. Medicare Supplement insurance policies are commonly identified by the letter designation for the group of benefits included in a specific policy, such as A, F, and N.  It all begins to look like alphabet soup after a while.
